Campaign Recaps from 10/06/20 to 10/13/20

10/06/20 The party get to their cave, set watches for a long rest (Sir DS/Ellalan+Kendell/Thineli/Lord Fatty+Yeusof). They notice a musty smell in the cave that wasn't there the last time. Thineli believes it to be some kind of insect smell. Kendell thinks it may have been centipede(s) or similar looking for food. But no signs of nesting... Ellalan has the Direwolf stand guard at the cave entrance. She wants it to alert the others if it senses anything and attacks whatever they attack. So the party goes to sleep leaving Sir Dawnstar on watch...Three Stone Ankhegs (cave dwelling Ankhegs) attack the party, they mostly target the DireWolf. After a short battle they kill 2 and drive the last one off. The rest of the long rest is uneventful. Kendell levels to 4 and Sir Dawnstar levels to 5. Kendell leads the way back to back to the orcish town of Dagambi, taking 1.5 days. It was a mostly quiet journey with Kendell leading them away from any encounters. The coins and gems total 5290gp. One sixth is 881.67gp. The party divvies up the rest of the loot using a wierd system of their own devising.. this takes a while but they are all happy at the end.

Lord Fatty is tasting his new loot...Ellalan would like to head back to Kunaxx the wizard for her gloves, but they aren't ready yet, so she has to go back to the tavern ungloved.Ellalan orders her rum and goes up to her room and starts reading the Linan book for the Sacred Flame spell. Lord Fatty will go talk to bartender on town's view on slavery and proselytize Mishakel's Good words. Sir Dawnstar buys Spilnt armor and sells his old Chainmail. Yesuof make a brass key out of his red wax block trinket. Yeusof looks for Kendell and can't find him at the Alluring Bottle and then he heads off to The Rock of Lement King to see if he is there.. Thineli is looking for a translation of his book with a forgotten language. The bartender directs him to the marketplace and Omaghed the Book Dealer. Lord Fatty asks the bartender about slave and slavery in the town and nearby areas. He finds out about Indentured servants and such. No slaves are taken in the area nearby as it too much work to keep them safe and fed. Lord Fatty visits the orphanage to proselytize his faith as he may attract an acolyte. Yeusof is very leary of trying to prostelize to children... especially vulnerable children in an orphanage...Back home, in his soldiering days, he would wage war against kingdoms that mistreated children. Maybe Lord Fatty can find a willing acolyte from the local unemployed population... with promises of treasure and career training? preaching in brothels was fruitless..

Note: I had the players take their side/solo/shoping things to discord.

@GMBob Ellalan is beginning her reading of the book to learn the sacred flame cantrip. She wants to pick up her magical gloves. She also would like to find out if the cube with the four winds is magical (first asking her party if they can detect magic). She would like to research that item as well as the seashell map of the mythical city. Can she redraw it on paper as well in case the seashell gets lost or broken? Also, do the seashells in the leather pouch look like regular seashells or exotic or unusual in any way? When she picks up her gloves, she would ask the wizard if he has any other magical trinkets available. (Specifically that would make her stronger or stealthier. Or anything weird!)

@ellalan None of the items listed as 'Trinkets' have a magical aura, so Detect Magic gives zero readings. How many hours per day do you want to devote to reading The Linan Slates.. you can easily do 1d6 but each hour past that requires a Int Roll DC 8+number of hours that day and if you fail you waste that hour....You can copy the map on the sea shell but it's a very crude map (from another dimension).  You can go find maps and see and see if there is an equivalent of that map in this world, will cost you 4d20gp, 1d4 days and a DC 14 save vs INT or WIS (your choice). Nothing special about the bag of seashells though some of them are very pretty.

@ellalan When you return to Kunaxx the Wizard to get your gloves the next day, you ask him if he is selling anything weird.. He tries to cover his tusks with his lips and mutters you could try the red candle district over there, pointing to the east...

@yeusof You travel across the town to the tavern, The Rock of the Lement King. Asking the bartender if he seen Kendell, he tell you Kendell was here earlier but left to find an artist to repair a painting he had. As you drink an ale and decide what to do next, you hear the musician working on a song, saying things like "flashing blades of the marauders", "savage arrows of Kendell" and "the sunbeam of Siion, the Harvest God!"... wtf?

@thineli Your owlbear egg could hatch any time now. You have some meat but you should also think about having to nurse the cub as it probably will not eat solid food for a time. Heading to the market place you look for the large stall of Omaghed the Book Dealer. He seems squarish and kind of dried out. He looks at your book and says he knows this language. He can have the book translated for 80gp or he can sell you a lexicon of this language for  40gp. Either of these will take about 2 weeks. Using the lexicon you would use the book at 1d6X5% per hour, so would take you a lot longer to read it but you would also learn this language (called Mutoi, used by a jungle dwelling race far from where you are now).

@lord fatty Getting directions from the bartender (who is called Soughat btw) You set off to the town's orphanage. When you get there, it is a large wooden two story building in need of some repairs with a large fenced in yard. There is a sign in Orcish and Common that says "Happy Home Orphan Home, run by Mother Yolmar".  Looking in the yard you see a bunch of smallish orcs wearing shapeless clothing digging up roots, raising mushrooms and various edible insects.  You knock on the door and are let in to speak to Mother Yolmar. She is a huge matronly female orc (or possibly a male in drag? hard to tell). You tell her you are looking for a child to become your acolyte, to be trained in the worship of your God. She asks you to explain about your god, which is unknown to her..

@GMBob <Yeusof> What!?!? Has Kendall been telling stories of our quest, glorifying himself as the hero?? And no credit to the God Marked Marauders?? That is not honorable at all.... I ask the bartender where the artsy part of town is and go try to find Kendall.

@yeusof Silgre (the bartender) tells you most artists (sneering as she says it) can be found in a run down building on the east side of town by the wall that they call 'The Sleeping Oasis' and I call the laxy bastards inn. You can't miss it, it's an eyesore. So you head over there and find a large wooden rundown multi colored building... nothing matches and it looks like it could collaspe anytime. There are several orcs laying around, walking, talking, etc. all wearing paint smeared smocks....

@GMBob <Thineli> Hello! Thinelli wants to do a few things: 1. Check on the owlbear egg - if it hatches, look to buy some food / grow potion.  Work to train the owlbear to obey simple commands like ‘protect’ and ‘attack’ 2. Look for an upgrade to my armor with some dragon scale. I check to see if any is available to buy. I would also like to find someone in the town that knows about what animals live down here in the caves.

@thineli once it hatches you can work on training it.  As for armor made of dragon scales, you can search but will take you some time (1d4 days or pay people to search for you, 10gp and a day would find out if it's available or could be made). The hunter's tavern (the Rock of the Lemental King) would be the place to talk to hunters.

@GMBob Lord Fatty explains to Mother Yolmar that the tenets of Mishakel. Is about healing of the body, mind and spirit. Restoring to wholeness those who were damaged by war and aggression. That Mishakel is the goddess of motherhood and fertility.  Is there any in her care that need restoration?Lord Fatty explains to Mother Yolmar that the tenets of Mishakel. Is about healing of the body, mind and spirit. Restoring to wholeness those who were damaged by war and aggression. That Mishakel is the goddess of motherhood and fertility.  Is there any in her care that need restoration?

@GMBob <Thineli> Thanks Bob. I head over to the Lemental King and ask around for the dragon scale, I pay for ‘searching’ for the scale. After getting the scale search started, I then go look for a sage to translate the Thesis on the Denizens of the Tooth: Wonderful Wild.

@GMBOB I will spend 3 hours each day available reading. I will hold onto the map and not bother to replicate it and put it in the pouch with my other beautiful seashells, which I will keep.

@GMBOB I will thank Kunaxx politely (at least as politely as I can be!).  If the red district is safe, I will go there by myself.  However, if it is not, I would ask the party if anyone wants to accompany me before heading that way.  If I make it there, I will ask around for magical rings/boots/jewelry, etc, that would help me move faster and/or stealthier.  If there is nothing available like that, I won't buy anything else, unless it sounds really weird and unusual.

@GM Bob  Lord Fatty teaches the children Mishakel prayer mantra “Infinity has no beginning, no beginning can have no end.” Mishakel symbol is the blue infinity. Lord Fatty is in prayerful discernment to determine if any or all children can becomes acolytes Of Mishakel. Other than Activities of Daily Living(ADLs) including preaching the faith Lord Fatty will review his new books and spend a hour a day to learn Undercommon

@GM Bob <Sir DawnStar> I would like to sell all my stuff I got to make my greatsword have 2d4 radiant damage

Except for the 1hit death item and the old book.

@GM Bob  <Yeusof> I walk to one of the orcs that is displaying artwork and ask to see one of their pieces of artwork.  In the casual conversation I ask if they have heard of Kendall.

These threads are picked on in the main game, except for Lord Fatty still doing the Orphanage.

Kill Count=(Ankhegsx2)+(Ankheg driven offx1)

Exp=(450x2)+(450x1/2)=1125/6=187.5 188exp each. +150 each for safely making it back.

10/13/20 Yuseof talks to the artists at 'The Sleeping Oasis' and makes a favorable impression and gets invite to see a performance piece one of them is doing. He asks about Kendell and is told he was here looking to get a painting repaired. Kendell was directed to Ostian the half orc painter, so Yuseof goes to see that person as well. Before he leaves the artists they tell him that Ostian "favors his human half".  When Yuseof gets to Ostian's small brick home, he is met with a person like looks like a male orc dressed like a human farmer (with some paint smears). "Greetings fellow human! Come in, I have some soft foods like bread and cheese I can share with you." They talked for a bit and then the artist shows him his latest work, a painting called The Human Condition.  The painting consists of a group of humans huddling near a campfire behind a high thick wall while several cuddly looking wolves are howling outside. When asked why Kendell had come to see him, Ostain shows Yuseof a painting he was repairing for Kendell. Ostain  critiques the painting and says he is getting ten gold pieces to clean and repair it. Yuseof wants to hide the painting from Kendell as a joke but Ostain tells him orcs are bad at jokes involving their property and Kendell would try to burn his house down. Yuseof then wants to buy the painting from Ostain but is told it isn't his to sell. "You sure are bad at property rights for a human. That's why I live in a brick house." Yuseof goes back to the Alluring Bottle to drink.

Sir DawnStar goes to the marketplace and askes around till directed to the large silk and leather tent of Baish the factor, located at a corner of the market. Sir Dawnstar sells his potions and then goes to see Kunaxx the Wizard to get his GreatSword enchanted with +2d4 radiant damage. It will cost 800gp and take 12 days. He leaves the sword and pays half now (400gp). Sir Dawnstar goes and gets a new greatsword from a blacksmith at the market (50gp). (Sir DawnStar currently has 520gp left). He then goes back to the Alluring Bottle to drink.

Thineli visits Omaghed the Book Dealer at the market. He has a large walled-in section with a tent roof. Lots of books. After explaining what he could do (write a translation or a guide to the language for Thineli to learn it and translate the book himself), Thineli tells him to translate it and pays the 80gp. Omaghed tells him it will be ready in two weeks. Thineli wants to learn about the beasts of the local area so he goes to the Rock of the Lemental King. He also wants to see how the search for dragon scales so he can have armor made is going. The bartender says he still doesn't know of anyone selling any but will keep his ears open for it (Thineli paying him 10gp to search etc). The bar is mostly empty except for a musician that is working on a song. Over hearing it, Thineli realizes it's a bardic song about the party's last adventure so he goes over to talk and help provide some details. There seems to be some name, place and action changes to fit the pace and mood of the song but mostly accurate. While at the bar, Thineli meets Frog, a gnome orphan that is a wizard. He tells his tale of how he escaped an orphan fighting ring that was run by the orphanage. Some back and forth between Thineli and Frog and Thineli invites Frog to join the party. They head back to the Alluring Bottle.

Ellalan realizes that the red candle district is where 'strange or wierd' sex would be purchased so she heads back to the Alluring Bottle. She, Yuseof and Sir DawnStar are somewhat drunk when Thineli and Frog show up. Frog shows some magic. Ellalan throws a peanut at Frog to check his reflexes. But it hits him right in the forehead. "He is not fast, but he makes nice fireworks..." Ellalan touches Thineli on the shoulder to show him how they work.. doing 3 necrotic damage to him. The party engages in drunken revelry and then go to look at the job board in front of the Chief's house. On the board they see "Trolls 75gold per head, Magic Spiders 25gp per head, Bugbear Bandits KILL! 2gp per head!" the party decides to take a long rest after being drunk all evening and then in the morning (?) go hunt the magic spiders... In the morning, Thineli goes to see if Kendell is around but he is out hunting. Lord Fatty is still at the orphanage (more on that later). Ellalan and Sir Dawnstar and Yuseof get breakfast and then plan to meet the party at the Guard Tower. They head to where Shig was lost. As they arrive they see a tunnel filled with webs! Frog tries to Firebolt them but they seem to be like the webs produced by the Phase Spiders and not easily burned. Using a torch and her short sword Ellalan cuts a path in the tunnel, Yuseof cutting one parallel to hers. Rounding a bend they see the tunnel ahead is full of various spiders, Giant Hunting Spiders and Giant Wolf Spiders. Upon seeing the torch light to spiders rush to attack.. but there seems to be a strange coordination to their actions, like they are being led by an unseen commander. They surround the party and assist on attacks so the party realizes they have to retreat. They do a fighting withdraw, almost being overwhelmed. Two Phase Spiders jump in, attack and then withdraw! The party escapes knowing something is going on but not what... CliffHanger!!!!

Kill Count=(Giant Hunting Spiderx4)+(Giant Wolf Spiderx5)+(Phase Spiderx2 forced to escape)

Campaign Recaps from 09/15/20 to 09/28/20

09/15/20 Thineli sells a bunch of items to various merchants at the market (sold the messenger pigeon, 5 phase spider legs, large crab claw, blue quartz, moss agate, written limerick) for 42 gp and buys 1 acid vail and 3 oil flasks. He checks on the owl bear egg (which he found in the haunted forest a few weeks ago) and it's ok but still not hatching. Lord Fatty checks his inventory (he has 420gp, 1 healing potion and a 300gp Diamond (for Revivify)). The party leaves with Kendell the hunter, leading them to the haunted temple he found. This takes 1 1/2 days. The only encounter is avoided with Kendell leading them into a small cave off the path they were following, letting some giant armored cave lizard wander past. Finally arrived at the cave where the temple is. The temple is larger than they thought it would be and surrounding it are an army of Ghosts and skeletons. As they watch they see the skeletons and ghostly images keep doing the same thing over and over again, such as gardening, picking up things and putting them down, repairing walls that are not there or  already falling down. Lord Fatty tries to talk to a ghostly image but he quickly realizes it is just a soul echo and not something he can interact with. Thineli uses his cloaking device to turn invisible and goes to scout to the east. He finds a large hall to the north east and inside are three undead knights, standing guard and occasionally interacting with each other. Ellalan stealths to the north and enters the ruins of the library/study hall.. She watches the skeletons pantomiming writing and organizing books on shelves that have rotted and fallen to piles of debris. Yuesof goes up to where Ellalan went and joins her, looking through the door to the east and seeing a large garden courtyard with a large dead looking tree in the center. Sir Dawnstar follows Yuesof, everyone leaving Kendell without telling him what they are doing or where they are going.."What professionals these guys are, each knowing exactly what they have to do without talking!" He thinks as he hunkers down to wait. Thineli starts to enter a room to the west of the main hall that seems in good repair at first glance.  As he enters he sees a plump middle-aged woman dressed as a peasant who seems to be organizing boxes. As he enters, through he is invisible the woman suddenly stops and changes into a horrific spectre form. She seems to be sniffing the air and looking around but she can't seem to detect him so he quietly exits the room. Meanwhile, Lord Fatty goes to where a skeleton is pruning and gardening an empty flower bed. When he touches the earth and grabs some of it the skeleton reacts by first silently scolding him and then seeming to have almost a kindly look and hands him a non-existent flower. Lord Fatty then goes into the library and starts shifting through the deris.. finding nothing of import, he still grabs a handful of rotted papers from the pile. This causes the two skeletons working there to approach him. They seem very irate, so Lord Fatty hands them the papers putting in right into one of their hands..  This seems to puzzle the skeleton at first and it just keeps looking at what is in it's hands.  But then suddenly looks around as if actually seeing the ruins of the room... and falls to the ground silently screaming! The other skeleton comes over to comfort it and then they both start screaming. Ellalan tries to see if the skeletons who just realized they are dead can be comforted or if she should punch them in the face if they look aggressive and when the skeletons both spring up and start running through the east door, runs after them. Yuesof and Sir Dawnstar ignore the skeletons running through the courtyard and enter the garden, looking at the dead tree. Yeusof feels cold spots walking around the giant tree and yells outs "SPIDERS!!! I WILL AVENGE YOU SHIG!!" Sir Dawnstar touches the tree... 8 Spectors rise up out of the ground and attack the two in the garden. Ellalan decides to attack the skeletons, destroying one with darts. The Spectors attack with amazing rolls..er skill and almost kill Sir Dawnstar and hit Yuesof. Lord Fatty casts Turn Undead and 5 of the spectors start to flee and then summon Spiritual Weapon. Sir Dawnstar lays hand on himself (+20 hp). Yuesof decides the tree is the sourse of the undead and attacks it. Ellalan yells at Lord Fatty as she moves up to protect him from specters, "Why do I always end up protecting you?!" Thineli summons a storm and Calls Lightning destroying a spector then a spector slashes him almost killing him. Yuesof uses his action surge and destroys two of the spectors... then hits the tree with his shield. Ellalan Stunning Strikes a spector using her whip. The two dead skeletons come back to unlive! It's almost as if something is holding them from going to their final rest...Lord Fatty summons spirit guardians..Thineli summons a moonbeam. The tree seems half destroyed but there are so many undead... Suddenly an undead comes through the wall to the south.. looking like a plump middle-aged woman dressed as a peasant she turns into a Banshee as she sees the party attacking the tree.. Ellalan yells as she sees the Banshee..but it is too late.. The Banshee wails and all of the party fall over near death except for Yuesof... The two spectors farthest from Yuesof ignore him and fall to their knees, praying to the tree.. The spector nearest him looks longingly at the tree as it claws him. Yuesof notices that the undead praying to the tree aren't attacking him.. so he dodges the skeleton swinging at him and drags the dying Lord Fatty out of the garden.. The remaining undead immediately start preying to the tree. The tree seems to gather strength from their pray and is healing...

Sir DawnStar rolled a 1 on his dead save, with the first failure that makes 3... Sir DawnStar dies...

Yuesof pours the healing potion on Lord Fatty's belt into Lord Fatty to save him.. Lord Fatty casts Mass Healing Word on the other dying party members... Yuesof whispers harshly for them to crawl out and don't touch the tree or the undead... The Tree is visibly healing faster and faster as the undead continue to pray to it. Ellalan drags Sir Dawnstar's body out of the garden..Thineli tries to get closer and pray to the tree. The Banshee (now back in her housekeeper form) shakes her head no and points him out of the garden while continuing to pray.. Thineli leaves to stand with his group.. Will Sir Dawnstar be Revivified? Will the party be horribly killed.... CLIFFHANGER!!!

Exp= Everyone except Kendell gets 400 exp for the big combat. Kendell gets 200 exp for leading them there safely and waiting for instructions.

Current Exp Totals are: Ellalan 9512, Lord Fatty 8696, Thineli 10446, Yeusof 8386, Sir Dawnstar 5769. Kendell 1178.

09/22/20 Lord Fatty cases Revivify on Sir Dawnstar returning him to life!! Thineli turns into a Dire Wolf and then grabs Sir Dawnstar in his jaws and carries him away into the darkness (cause wolves can't see in the dark). They head back to where they had left Kendell. Kendell sees the Dire Wolf rushing towards him with Sir Dawnstar in it's jaws... He trips to trip it so he can rescue him (or his body) but on only does a minor hit on the wolf. The rest of the party show up and then head to a nearby cave to rest and recover..Kendell talks with the group as they take a long rest... they are a mixed bag (of nuts). The party confesses they had no plan and just ran into the temple like goblins. After a long rest....that is uneventful.. they vote to go back and carefully explore. Ellalan is thinking that maybe we can find a way to bring magical sunlight in here to break the curse. Ellalan asks Kendall if there is anyone close by like the Eldermoks who have spells like sunlight? Kendell says he doesn't know about Eldermoks or others that would have sunlight spells. The party goes into the main hall of the church, carefully not touching anything. On each of the columns that support the roof is a long prayer to Siion. There is a main prayer and several minor prayers of desires and praise. They see all the ghostly images, skeletons and zombies praying in a roughly ten minutes long cycle then starts with them seeking seating and ends with them leaving... At the top of the hall is a large altar with a high priest looking figure speaking the prayer to Siion, God Of Agriculture. He is speaking the prayer in Celestial. Sir Dawnstar tries to talk with him. After a lot of misunderstanding and confusion Sir Dawnstar finally figures out he can talk to the High Priest Oakenleaf when he finishes the pray if he speaks in Celestial... several cycles of prayer and Oakenleaf tells his tale. Finally giving Sir Dawnstar his holy symbol, a silver oak tree, that will allow him to cast the spell Sunbeam once... Then a lot of planning and talking to figure out the best way to attack.. More exploring and Yeusof speaks to the Banshee in the Storage room. She tells him more of the story, how the tree will call the undead to defend it if attacked and warns him to leave. Campaign Recap 08/04/20 to 09/08/20

08/11/20 The party travels down the long staircases to the unground of the ruined temple. When they get to the bottom they find torches lighting the area, a small fort nearby and several guards. They talk to the guards and learn that they are there by order of Arzan the Finger! The leader of the guard post is Kuiguz, the three other guards are Hiro, Aratsuna and Tamun. There is a board with the 'rules' posted: Bounty on the trolls 100gp each. (believed to be 3?), The villages of Cragpass, Ironlight and Nightward are under the protection of Arzan the Finger. Omen, the DemiGod of poison and his spawn are enemies of the Finger. The werewolf village (Grayholde) is neutral. The orc town (Dagambi (Dag-am-bi)) is powerful and independent. They have strict laws... A small village of Drow is rumored to be to the far east of the map... (Shadewood). They also learn that Lord Lodex has become Arzan's Chamberlain and with his help has repaired Arzan's Fortress and established trade relations with the nearby villages. Thineli is worried he will be remembered and "disguises'' himself as a pirate (and says Arrh! a lot). The party decides to head to the orc town and get the lay of the land there. They walk through five zones to get there not encountering anything. They find a small alcove where they can take a long rest (next to a dried up corpse). They finally get the Orc Town of DagAmBi. They talk to the guards at the gate and ask what the rules of the town are. No killing, no stealing, no taking advantage of women. Entire party looks at Lord Fatty. Sir Dawnstar says to Lord Fatty, "If you cause trouble I will leave you here!" Hijinks at the Tavern (The Alluring Bottle). Yeusof wins two gold arm wrestling. Ellalan sets up a drinking contest between Yousef and Sir Dawnstar to see who can chug the orc ale fastest. Go to town center to see the job board for adventurers. On the board they see "Trolls 75gold per head, Magic Spiders 50gp, Bone Snake 50gp, Bugbear Bandits KILL!!". Town is run by Chief Guldar. The party decides to try to kill the "Bone snake" that is posted in the orc town. So they set off by the east gate. The orcs give them what directions they can but they need to make some tracking rolls... looking for the yellow snake warning paintings...After an hour of walking the party finds the first snake symbol....They follow the symbols for another three hours coming to a large open cavern with a ruined temple in the back... Seeing the thirty five foot high ceiling, Ellalan drinks a potion of climbing and goes to the ceiling. Thineli turns invisible using his Camo item. Lord Fatty is ready to cast his Bless from his shield. The party advances slowly towards the temple... Lord Fatty notices something buried in the sand of the cavern and casts the Bless spell within his shield on Yeusof, Sir Dawnstar and Thineli. An eerie voice hisses out from the temple..."KILL THEMMMMMM!" And Zombies start bursting out of the sand, some near Yeusof and Thineli. Thineli casts Entangle (becoming visible) on the area of the zombies but it only slows them down. A bolt of Lightning from the temple hits Yeusof full on and Thineli for half, injuring them both. Ellalan throws darts but realizes she needs to get closer so she jumps to the roof of the temple where she can see the Bone Snake! Lord Fatty channels divinity and turns some of the zombies but the party attacks them before they can escape, dragging them back into the battle. The zombies tie up the party (except Ellalan) as the Bone Snake casts Lightning again, hitting Lord Fatty. Ellalan uses her Fist of Unbroken Air, slamming the Bone Snake against the wall. The Bone Snake attempts to Charm her but fails and Ellanlan uses her Fist of Unbroken Air again.. Sensing her zombie minions are almost gone, the Bone Snake runs into its inner lair, down the stairs, the heavy stone slab door slamming behind her. We end on this Cliffhanger!!

Kill Count= 7 zombies escaped=1 bone snake (Bone Naga)

Exp=(7x50)=350+(1100/2)=900/5=175exp each. +100 for interacting with the guards at bottom of stairs, +100 for interacting with guards at town, +100 for role playing at the tavern (not for Lord Fatty and Yeusof), +50 for Thineli for pirate disguise (just because).

08/18/20 The party heals (Sir Dawnstar lays on hands, Yeusof uses his healing bracer) and then Lord Fatty cast Pray of Healing and everyone is healed. They examine the altar... it seems to belong to a forgotten snake god (Yi'ti?). Everything has been stripped and taken from this temple. After about 20mins they start to move the stone lid,... using the wisdom of the ancients. Ellalan uses the wisdom of the ancients to create a rope/rock pulley and push system to move the ginormous 2,000 lb slab of rock! Because they are amazing!!! The first room at the foot of the stairs they are faced with two Armored Zombies that they quickly overcome. They hear the Bone Snake's voice taunting them, telling them she has done divination on them and tells them some stuff she knows.. The party exits to the south and Yeusof falls into a pit trap. They pull him out and the party continues south to another pit trap... Finally they make it to a large almost empty room with an old dusty chest in the center. No one wants to check it out so Yeusof goes to look at it. Yeusof walks all the way around the chest like a cartoon character, inspecting it carefully. He then steps back and shoots an arrow through the side. Nothing happens so he gets closer and then Yeusof smashes the lock. There is a broken glass noise then WOOOOSHHH!!! Fireball explodes for 6 damage (low roll) engulfing Yeusof and Sir Dawnstar. All that was in the chest is destroyed. Yeusof huffs out some smoke and wipes the ashes of his eyebrows away. The Bone Snake laughs at them. Ellalan sees a small hand sized spider-shape with the body being a dark eye but fails to catch it. They head back north and see the pit traps are gone.. so Sir Dawnstar runs into the next room.. except the trap had just rest set so he falls down into the pit... They fish him out with a rope. Moving forward they encounter two more Armored Zombies. They fight them.. Thineli turns in a bear, blocking everyone... kill the zombies.. move forward, spot another pit trip and avoid it. Fight two Flaming Skeletons (something they have never seen before but no one asked any questions....), kill them.. and another pit trap is ahead. First Ellalan falls into the pit and fights an armored zombie. Then Sir Dawnstar climbs down into the pit, then Ellalan ties to climb out and fails. Then Thineli bear falls into the pit and almost crushes everyone. Then Yeusof shots his crossbow into the tangled mess and hits Sir Dawnstar. Sir Dawnstar finally kills the zombie and they all get out of the pit. Going around the corner they see the Bone Snakes lair, well her bedding against the wall anyway. But she is nowhere to be found. There is a chest almost in the hallway way, with scratch marks on the floor showing it had been against the wall. Yeusof walks up to it and gets ready for another explosion. But then, Yeusof safely detects and detraps the chest. Inside the chest is a trap (a fragile bottle of poison gas), a single gold coin and a potion of cure poison.. Scratched into the inner lid in Dwarven is the following.. "I believe it will be the young soldier that opens this chest.. and either kills all his friends or gets a gold coin. You would survive as there is a potion of cure poison in this chest as well.. Tell your druid (if he is alive) that I have gone to tell his friend's where he is.." Yeusof gives the poison gas bottle to Lord Fatty. (Bottle can be thrown up to STx3 feet, breaks up when it lands. Radius 15" gas cloud, 3d8 poison, DC 13 CN save for half, if save fails by 5 or more, target is poisoned for 2d20 hours).

The party decides to take a long rest in the Bone Snake's bedroom... how could this this go wrong? ANNNNNDDDD CLIFFHANGER!!!!!

Guards: Ellalan/Sir Dawnstar/Yeusof/Thineli.. Lord Fatty guards Ellalan.... Two hours into the rest something happens....DA DA DAAAAAA!!!

Kill count: 5 Armored Zombies+2 Flaming Skeletons, Escaped=Bone Snake+ 1 Armored Zombie.

08/25/20 As the party rests, they are visited by floating ghostly statues that identify themselves as echoes of the aspects of the snake goddess. They first talk with Lord Fatty, then Sir Dawnstar and finally Thineli. The long rest finally finished.. Ellalan and Lord Fatty are lvl 5.The party heeds the warnings of the statues and leaves the temple. Falling into some the same pit traps again...shm Exiting the lower level they head to the orc town.the party makes its way back to the orc town. Three hours into the walk back, they encounter a small humanoid cooking a large bug in a small pot. His name is Shig, a catfolk adventurer. After some talk and failed persuasion checks, Shig joins the group.

They get to Orc town. Thineli and Ellalan goto the market, the others go to the tavern. Thineli buys some Studded Leather (bone studded) for 45gp and sells his old stinky leather for 5gp. The orc that sells oranges tells Ellalan to seeks out Kunaxx the wizard. He has been known to make magic items. He has a home at the north edge of town that looks like the place of a wizard.

Meanwhile at the tavern, Sir Dawnsir is napping drunk on the bar, Lord Fatty is chatting up the dancers and Yousef is sleeping in a chair to the side. Shig wanders back munching on a raw hunk of meat..The two dancers at the Alluring Bottle are named Garbut and Shazrol. Both are female orcs, Shazrol is the smarter of the two, Garbut the prettier.

Ellalan, Thineli and Shig wander back to the bar and then off to the north side of town. Kunaxx is a tall thin orc with really large tusks. ...Ellalan had never seen an orc with such large tusks..It made her think of the school of hard c's..er..seas. Ellelan orders a set of gloves that do an extra +1d4 necrotic damage. It will take 9 days to work to finish. She leaves a deposit of 200 gp. They walk back to the Alluring Bottle and drink with their drunk friends. Shig is smoking a pipe. A stranger tells Thineli the way to the Trolls. He turns out he is the Chief of the town. He tells him of a way to properly fight them. Everyone sleeps it off at the tavern.

09/01/20 Having rest and ready to head out they start looking for symbols that warn away from the troll lair. It's only about 3 hours away but...After being lost for 3 hours, Yusoef finds the path of symbols that lead the the troll's cave lair..Entering the lair, they find one tunnel has a large pit trap as you enter it, Yeusof narrowly avoiding falling in..There is a largish church bell in a wooden ringing platform, they debate ringing it then decide not to. Blood trail through the center of the room... they follow it...They head south... seeing a blood trail heading that way... they see a few corpses in the next room.. being eaten by three Carrion Crawlers, they attack and the crawlers rush at them.. the battle is joined.. Ellalan casts Fist of Unbroken Air at the Crawler, doing damage but not pushing it away... In the cave beyond the spike trap, the Troll's eyes snap open as it hears battle in its lair! It runs from it's nest, leaps across the pit and heads towards..... Yeusof slashes it across it's chest as it closes with him. Lord Fatty is paralyzed and being slowly (or not so slowly) killed by the slimy tentacles of the crawlers..oh no he thinks.. a henti death! Ellalan tries to engage the troll but forgets the long slimy reach of the crawler's tentacles! It wetly slapped her and paralyze her!!! The troll claws the bell! Which tolls loudly in the cave!! OH NOOOOOO!!! As it does so.. it's wounds healing with unnatural speed as it fights with Yesof Yeusof is so unnerved by the troll's healing the slash across it's chest that his attacks are ineffectual, missing badly. Thineli whips out his Keoghtom's Ointment and rubs a use on Lord Fatty. Curing his paralyses and healing 5 hp. Lord Fatty and Yeusof both realize they are lvl 5 and haven't updated their character sheets.. (ok I (the GM) will share some blame for this). Thineli uses his bracelet of Scorching Ray and hits the trolls setting alight the oil that Yesuof had splashed onto it. He then pours his K's Ointment on to Lord Fatty again (healing 8hp and curing his paralyses). Sir Dawnstar smights the Crawler he is fighting but it keeps fighting! Ellalan is unable to break the poison's thrall...Still laying on the floor paralyed with the tentacles ooze covering her... Lord Fatty Summons Spirit Guardian! Hitting all the Crawlers and the Troll! The Troll ignores him to focus on Yeusof but the Crawlers turn on LF, the first one attacks paralyzing him and then the other one attacks.. Lord Fatty is Tentacled and Bitten by the Crawler he is fighting, falling down and near death! Yeusof slashes with his magic sword at the oil covered flaming troll, using his action surge to slice it to bits before stabbing it in the heart!! The troll is dead!! Thineli runs up to Lord Fatty and revives him at death's door. Saving the now useful cleric. Shig pops out of cover and snipes at the totally unaware Crawler on the wall.. missing and fading back...Meanwhile Sir Dawnstar has finally gotten into the defense of the Crawler he is fighting, stepping, cutting in half with a might blow and then quartering it before it falls to pieces... Ellalan blinks in victory for him! Lord Fatty's Spiritual Weapon finishes off the last heavily wounded Crawler.. Sir Dawnstar hears a heavy running foot step coming from the south.... Ellalan finally breaking free of the poison, "These tentacles are no fun!", Lord Fatty chuckles "they are kind of fun!" Shig cuts the head off the dead troll. "Shig did it.. Shig is troll slayer!!" The party sets up an ambush with the tunnel towards them blocked by a moon beam but nothing comes towards them, They debate about bringing the bell but decide it would slow them down... they leave the troll caves. Intending to return to the orc town and turn in the head... Not seeing the soft green glowing eyes watching from the darkness....and CLIFFHANNGERRR!!!!! Dun Dun Duuuuuun

09/08/20 Heading back to the orc town from the troll lair the party comes to a section of caves they had come to before but now the area has spider webbing in a few areas, making them almost impassable. They find out the webbing seems to be non-flammable... they feel cold spots that are in certain areas and seem to move through the party.. they start carefully moving through the caves to the next sigel to follow... Shig stabilizes and Lord Fatty thou alive is unable to shake off the paralyzation. Spider bites Sir Dawnstar almost killing him but he shakes off the effect of the poison and keeps fighting. Thineli uses his last dose of ointment on Sir Dawnstar, healing him for 10pts. Sir Dawnstar heals himself for 20pts using lay on hands. Yeusof continues cutting into the webbing going deeper and deeper. He calls for Shig... Ellalan runs into the webbing to help. Thineli heals himself.. "I'll guard here!" Lord Fatty says "Me too!" Sir Dawnstar rushes into the webbing bouncing off of Yeusof...Yeusof looks everywhere but can't find Shig.. Alas poor Shig..The group is saddened by his passing and his carrying the troll head... which they need for the reward.,..Thineli tries to harvest a spider. Taking 4 mins, he find 5 Phase Spider Eyes. A creature holding the eye can use it to cast Blink. The eye disappears after the spell is cast, and 5 Phase Spider Legs. Acts as a flail.
